March 14, 2008

I have closed my eyes to finally sleep

Forever in my grave, where darkness creeps

Even if I’m not with you, my spirit sees

You still sit by my gravestone

You silently weep

I wish I could say “it’s okay

I had to go; the end had to come one day

Don’t cry, don’t hurt yourself

I still think of u, I still care

So what, if I cant speak to u

Just lean close, listen to the trees

Hear them call out for u, just the way I used to

So what, if the moments wont come back

The wind will still whisper

The rain will still pour

Our name will be heard

Among the silent roar

So what, if we won’t see the sun set

Together sitting on the bridge like we used to

Legs dangling, a deep blue ocean beneath

Cars rushing past us, each in its own hurry

We can still be lost in that moment

Just close your eyes and picture the scene

...and when you open them I’ll be there

Sitting besides you but ....unseen
